From April 2022 to April 2024, Buglife ran a B-lines project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Gannochy Trust, spanning the Strathmore Valley from Montrose to Dunkeld and increasing the area and quality of pollinator-friendly wildflower-rich habitat by 24.8 ha. The project worked with organisations and communities to create wildflower areas through a series of workshops and events, supporting people to engage with nature. The improved habitat formed stepping stones and corridors, linking fragmented pollinator habitats and thereby helping species to move across the landscape.
