Scottish Mink Initiative Website
The website of the Scottish Mink Initiative, an exciting new initiative working across north Scotland has just been launched. The Initiative are community based and aim to protect native wildlife by removing breeding American mink from north Scotland and the Highlands. The river South Esk is in this area and the work of the initiative compliments biodiversity actions in the South Esk catchment management plan.
The Initiative is part of the Rivers and Fisheries Trusts of Scotland’s Biosecurity and Invasive Non Native Species Programme, implementing a large scale strategic approach to American mink control, as recommended by Scottish Natural Heritage through the Species Action Framework.
