Survey of gravel bank in the River South Esk at Brechin commences

A topographical survey of the gravel bank in the River South Esk at River Street, Brechin, is being carried out by Angus Council.

The survey will confirm the current dimensions of the gravel bank following changes which may have occurred through deposition or erosion of material since the previous survey was carried out.

The survey work is dependent on suitable weather conditions and can only be undertaken when the water levels in the river are sufficiently low to allow the work to be undertaken safely.

The results of the survey will be useful to the council when considering possible future flood alleviation measures.
